Project Hawaii coordinators are busy organizing their annual summer camp for homeless and poverty-stricken keiki.

Project Hawaii coordinators are busy organizing their annual summer camp for homeless and poverty-stricken keiki.

There still are lots of ways the community can help, everything from donating menu items and other materials for the programs to sponsoring T-shirts and campers.

“We want to let everyone know there is still the opportunity to help us reach our goal to provide each child with nutritious meals this summer,” said program founder Magin Patrick.

“I will be going to Costco next week to purchase all the items we have fallen short receiving, so if you are interested in helping with a donation to provide one meal for $4.50 or a whole day at $12.50, we’d love to add your donation to our shopping list.

“You can make your donation on our goal chart on our site, www.projecthawaii.net, or mail a check to: Project Hawaii, P.O. Box 1844, Keaau, HI 96749. Online donations cost us per transaction.

“Thank you again for all those who have come forward. You have made a huge difference thus far.

“On another note, our camp T-shirt sponsorship opportunity has also been extended. The printer won’t be able to get to our shirts as early as we thought, so we have a few more days to continue on our efforts as well,” said Patrick.

“For only $250, your company can be listed on our camp shirts that we wear every day all over the island, and even interisland. Our T-shirts will also be worn for the 4th of July parade, and the cancer walk this summer.”

To sponsor one keiki for his or her Adventure Abound Day Camp, the tuition is $693.

A sponsoring company’s name and logo will appear on the T-shirt worn by the child.

“All in all, we will print 400 camp T-shirts this year. The shirts will go home with the keiki and they will proudly wear them to school for a long time to come.

“Your company name and link will also be sponsored on both our websites as well,” said Patrick.

For more details on T-whirt sponsorship, contact Patrick at 987-6018 or via email at projecthawaiisummercamp@yahoo.com.

“Mahalo for all your support towards our wonderful summer camp,” she said.
